Looking for: Leather Powerbook Sleeve
Kenneth Cole is somewhat of a love/hate deal for me. I looove the clothes, but they’re all made for those impossibly skinny european types. I’ve managed to get away w/ some of the shoes, but meh: I think I just got lucky.
So anywho: I’ve been looking for a leather laptop sleeve to fit BigAl, but can’t find the right style in a size that’s gonna fit. The problem w/ a 17“ screen is that the resulting laptop is 15.4â€? wide. The sleeve above, which is the exact style I want, is only 14“.
That’s a bit of a problem. :’(
So, two years on BigAl and I still don’t have a sleeve. I already have a nice Kenneth Cole bag that fits, but it’s pretty old and haggard looking, and big enough to let me be lazy about keeping the bag free of â€?extra stuff“. Extra Stuffâ„¢ tends to get pretty heavy over time, and a sleeve prevents it by being just big enough.
*sigh*

If you’re looking for a really nicely-designed CSS 3D box model to figure out how all of the parts inter-relate, have a look at the link, above.
Blah: document review time
I can’t talk too much about what I’m doing, but the Big Boss wants me to review some requirements documents for a HUGE software project, and I’m totally draggin my heels on it.
She sent me the docs Friday afternoon, and while I’d intended to do the review this weekend, I managed to find other meaningful things to do in lieu of reading/commenting.
PROCRASTINAT3D!!!!
Ugh. I so don’t wanna do it right now.
….. or ever.
Blah.
The Sync4j Project
I ran across the following project this weekend — I haven’t had time to read about/test it, but it looks really promising if it can do what it advertises.
The Sync4j Project:
A wireless application needs data. The information must be available even when the device is off-line. Synchronization between multiple mobile devices and corporate servers is a fundamental component in every wireless project: data is supposed to be consistent when accessed by multiple users who are not always connected to the network. Once a wireless application is developed, it needs to be transferred to a remote device, over-the-air. Then, it must be kept up-to-date. Application provisioning is pivotal for the success of any wireless software.Developers of mobile applications around the world have been looking for a platform that would make their life easier. Sync4j is a complete and unique mobile application platform, addressing all the aspects of the equation:
data synchronization
application provisioning
device management
From what I can tell, it looks like it’s a server that you run that allows all of your devices to sync amongst themselves, including corporate email/PIM formats.
Maybe I’ll have a look at it after I settle into Tiger.
Tomorrow’s the day :)
It’s time to get my car tinted :D
I’ve been putting it off a while — I just wasn’t certain whether or not I wanted to do it, but I’m decided. It’s time to do it.
I’m a little nervous about my choice of tinters — this one comes well-recommended, but there’s some baggage involved. I don’t think this particular baggage will make a difference to me, but when it comes to having to deal w/ this kind of thing, I’d rather not.
Meh.
Edit: Ok — today wasn’t the day. The guy that was recommended to me wasn’t in today, so I’m going to go in tomorrow (Tuesday) at 10 AM to get it done.
