“South Park” Cruises to the Emmys – TMZ.com
Thursday’s Emmy nominations issued Tom Cruise a big slap in the face and simultaneously re-ignited the Cruise vs. “South Park” grudge match.“South Park’”s infamous “Trapped in the Closet” episode – which mocked Tom Cruise and Scientology – received praise from the Television Academy via a nod for Outstanding Animated Program.
Ironically, when the episode originally aired in November 2005 the credits listed each contributor’s name as ‘John Smith’ or ‘Jane Smith’ – an evident reference to the possibility of being sued.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the episode (I saw it the night it originally aired, then never again), but I don’t remember it being particularly “worthy” apart from the obvious slam on Scientology and the implication that Tom Cruise is gay. I certainly remember watching, slack-jawed as I turned to Wifee and we both just laughed and laughed, but it was the kind of laughter that wasn’t really about the content, as much as it was about the fact that someone had just come right out and said what everyone else was thinking.
Wait…. I’ve changed my mind. It’s QUITE worthy. That one and the episode where they killed Chef, too XD

What the fuck, guys? Vets risked their lives for you — do the right damn thing and pay attention to what you’re doing.
