It turns out that it is hard to get support for gay rights from the black or Hispanic populations (Hispanic is around 35% of the population) and the interior portion of California is pretty much redneck. I told him that I don't usually condone marriage, but since he had figured out a way to do it without getting a woman involved, it was ok in this case. These voters have got it all wrong.
