Christine O’Donnell, who is backed by the Tea Party Express, is running in this week’s Delaware Senate primary against Rep. Mike Castle. Castle, a former governor, has been winning elections in Delaware by large margins since 1966, and in any normal year his victory would be assured. But this year, nothing can be taken for granted.

O’Donnell’s views appear to be particularly extreme, even by Tea Party standards. In 1998, she told an MTV interviewer that masturbation is the same as adultery because “the Bible says that lust in your heart is committing adultery. So you can’t masturbate without lust.”

In an article written about the same time, the fiercely Catholic O’Donnell declared, “When a married person uses pornography, or is unfaithful, it compromises not just his (or her) purity, but also compromises the spouse’s purity. As a church, we need to teach a higher standard than abstinence.”

via » Tea Party backed candidate/dingbat says, “Masturbation is the same as adultery!” Dvorak Uncensored: General interest observations and true web-log..

What if you masturbate with your spouse?

By Julie Bykowicz

April 1, 2010

A House of Delegates committee rejected Wednesday a Republican lawmaker’s attempt to impeach Maryland’s attorney general over an opinion he issued recently on same-sex marriage.

Del. Don H. Dwyer Jr. of Anne Arundel County had asked fellow delegates to initiate the impeachment process for Douglas F. Gansler, a Democrat, who said Maryland should recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states. Dwyer says Gansler’s opinion wrongly overturned state policy on such unions.

America executed Japanese WWII soldiers who waterboarded American POWs because we deemed it torture.

Sixty years later, we conveniently choose to forget that inconvenient fact and then waterboard prisoners we’re holding in Gitmo.

Earlier this year, Speaker Pelosi flatly accuses the CIA of routinely misleading Congress about their knowledge of waterboarding in Gitmo.

The fuming Republican minority speak out vehemently against the Speaker and demand an investigation into these warrantless attacks.

He said/she said?

No.

From the NYTimes.com via the story i read on <a href"http://www.dvorak.org/blog/2009/07/09/cia-chose-to-lie-to-congress-starting-in-2001/">Dvorak.org/blog.

The director of the Central Intelligence Agency, Leon E. Panetta, has told the House Intelligence Committee in closed-door testimony that the C.I.A. concealed “significant actions” from Congress from 2001 until late last month, seven Democratic committee members said.

Doesn’t this essentially amount to treason?

Did you know you can stump anti-abortionists with one simple question?

Just ask them this:

If abortion was illegal, what should be done with the women who have illegal abortions?

An ex-coworker came up w/ an amazing insight into the question of whether or not abortion was murder. His concept was this: we know that babies are formed from the union of semen and an egg, but the burning question that needs to be answered is, “When does human life begin?”

If you remove a fetus from it’s mother too early, it’s chances of surviving are very small, so why not choose the point at which a fetus can survive on it’s own as the point when human life begins? Abortions could be allowed before then, and not after. Yes? No?
