Well, I finally managed to get a plasma tv. :)
Truth be told, wifee did! We got it a week ago today, but it was supposed to be a surprise for me for the Le Mans race weekend. Since the store doesn’t actually keep any in stock, she had to settle for a delivery date of 2 days after the Le Mans. Talk about an awesome surprise: <3 wifee!
When it arrived on Monday, I spent some time getting the wall bracket mounted w/o the help of my stud-finder (no no…. don’t be silly: I’m straight. A stud-finder helps find the 2×4’s in the wall that are behind the sheetrock). Turns out, I’m an idiot (wait: I knew that, already): I was using the stud-finder ALL WRONG.
When I was home Thursday, waiting for the cable guy to come hook up the HD cable box, I got a frantic call from work telling me that I needed to review some documentation (turns out, it was over 1 ream’s worth of documentation). Since it was so much information, a good friend of mine brought it to me on his lunch break since it’d take too long to scan & email the doc. When he got to the house, he showed me how to use the stupid stud-finder. Anywho… it’s good that he did.
I spent a good deal of Saturday finishing the job, so-to-speak, and the end result is the nice shelving arrangement you see here. Next up… mirror (shown on the left) and some other stuff for the kitchen!

Hooray! no naked guy reflected in the mirror. Nice floor, too.

What do you expect when such a stud is handling a stud-finder? Poor thing didn’t know WHAT to do with itself!
