So yeah, Apple’s dual-boot solution, BootCamp, is ok. Parallels Workstation is nicer. For me, I’d settle for the virtualized solution, but I’ve always hoped that the WINE project would get proper support on Intel-based Macs.
It seems this has finally happened, and the guys over at The Apple Blog have managed to get their hands on an alpha of the code being developed by CodeWeavers. From that they got to try, it’s still a little rough, but I have faith that it’ll be properly buffed up. Since this product is only a matter of convenience, my expectations aren’t for exact replication of all of a PC’s functionality, only that I’ll be able to run the oddball app that I don’t have in OS X from time-to-time. If they can get this going, I’ll have to consider getting myself a Macbook Pro.
