I’m SO excited about the upcoming release, but a little disappointed that we’ll have to wait AT LEAST another year or so before the betas are even available to download.

One of my biggest gripes has been the UI for the Notes client — putting things into perspective, that’s saying a great deal of what else Lotus have gotten right.

One of my first assignments at DISA, where I was stationed at the Defense Message System Program Office was to brief “The Generalâ€? on the differences between Notes and Outlook, from a user’s perspective.
Notes 6 App
As the resident “Notes Guyâ€?, I had access to some of Lotus’ engineers, and some of the feedback that I gave them seemed to honestly take them by surprise, as if they’d never even considered that they had a few *peculiarities* in the product.  The first example that comes to mind is that there was no “Deleteâ€? entry in the right-click menus — it said “Clearâ€?, instead.
Since then, Notes 5 and 6 have made some really nice headway on improving upon the old problems, but never had I expected something like *this*!

Great job, guys — and it’s about time!  :)
