When did Leo become so mean-spirited?
I’ve been noticing it more and more, lately. As he’s become more and more passive-aggressive about Steve Jobs not favoring him, he’s gotten more and more open about loving other tech. Tonight, listening to This Week in Google, he straight up mocked the creator of custom Android ROMs for being young.
Leo; seriously. Chill the eff out.
Edit: I’ve softened some of my response, and another trend I’ve noticed is that Leo’s recent move away from Apple could be based on their increased popularity & his desire to stay edgy and counter-culture.

If you look at the “Dig 4 was my idea!!!!” and the rest, I think it is pretty obvious that Leo is very afraid of becoming irrelevant. There are a lot of other people doing tech podcasts now. Leo has not had any deep insight into technology for quite some time now. He spread himself too thin and has become more “personality” than “tech”.
Are you sure you are not just touchy because he got mad at you? :)

That’s part of it, for certain. It’s also something that’s been building over time. I think you’ve nailed it. His zenith was at TechTV on Call for Help, and since then, he’s been building a steady following by recruiting more and more people, but he doesn’t really add much to the discussions of his own.
What he DOES do well, however, is bring a lot of reaaally interesting people to his shows. He has reach like no-one else.
